Anna Fujii is a filmmaker based in Tokyo, Japan. After finishing high school, she moved to Boston, MA, US. She got into Massachusetts College of Art and Design, majoring in Film/Video. She mainly did her study on experimental/documentary films and eventually started making her own films. After graduating MassArt, she moved back to Tokyo and went to Image Forum Film School in order to make some friends and to learn more about Japanese experimental cinema culture. She finished school with her thesis film, Dear Present Future (2020). She is currently planning the next screening event as a member of Ground Level Cinema(a group of filmmakers) while working on her new film projects in Tokyo.
東京で生まれ育ち、思春期に単身留学生活を通して英会話術を取得する。高校卒業後、アメリカはボストンに位置するマサチューセッツ州立美術大学へ進学し映像を専攻。欧米のアヴァンギャルド・実験映画文化や現役映画作家の教授らに影響を受けつつ映像制作開始。大学を卒業し日本へ帰国するとイメージフォーラム映像研究所へ入学。母国の実験映画作家・作品にさらなる影響を受けながら制作続行。研究所修了後は映画上映団体グラウンドレベルシネマの運営に携わりつつ東京を拠点に新作映画制作中。
